The Vyasarpadi Police on Wednesday arrested a 35-year-old autorickshaw driver for allegedly harassing a woman traffic constable while she was on duty on Tuesday evening.
The victim, Rishika (25), a Grade-II woman constable attached to the Vyasarpadi Traffic Police Station, had been regulating traffic at the junction from 4 a.m. on Tuesday. Around 6 p.m., the accused, Muniyandi (35), reportedly in an inebriated state, began arguing with her. Despite bystanders advising him to leave, he continued to quarrel with the constable.
