Police have arrested Muna Dehury, a resident of Rourkela originally from Deogarh, in connection with repeated thefts from a local grocery shop.

On September 28, Umesh Nayak (54), the shopkeeper of a store in Upperbalijodi under Raghunathpalli police limits, filed a complaint reporting a theft of items worth Rs 15,000 to Rs 17,000 that occurred on the night between September 27 and 28.

This marks the third time in six months that the shop has been targeted by thieves.

During the investigation, police seized one carton containing 24 packets of mustard oil, another carton with 12 packets, 2 kg of pulses, masala packets, gutkha packets, dairy whitener, and other grocery items from Muna Dehury’s residence.

Authorities continue to probe the case to prevent further losses to local businesses.
