In a series of operations across Assam, the Basistha Police Station arrested a habitual thief, Dipjyoti Kalita alias Babu (19), after he stole a gas cylinder and sold it to a grocery shop in the Hatigaon Chariali area. Upon a raid at the shop, Mahibul Islam (55), the owner, was arrested for receiving stolen goods. Police recovered two gas cylinders from the shop.
Meanwhile, the Chandmari Police Station solved a case of stolen rods from a PWD drain construction site. Four workers involved in the theft were arrested:

Nizam Ali (Dhula)
Udhab Ali (Goalpara)
Manowar Hussain (Goalpara)
The owner of the scrapyard who bought the stolen rods was also apprehended, and the stolen goods were recovered.
In another operation, Dispur Police Station quickly recovered a Jupiter Scooty (AS14H8192) from Khanapara in less than 24 hours after it was stolen.
Additionally, a drug peddler, Gautam Medhi (39) from Kahilipara, was arrested by a team from Dispur Police Station near GMCH. He was caught red-handed with 5.20 grams of heroin, and a mobile phone was seized from him.
These actions demonstrate the ongoing efforts of Assam police to combat various crimes, including theft, drug trafficking, and the sale of stolen goods.
