Milwaukee Brothers Charged with Stealing $11,000 from Walgreens

MILWAUKEE, WI — Two Milwaukee brothers, Zyren Stewart (23) and Xavier Stewart (30), have been charged with theft after allegedly stealing $11,000 from a Walgreens on North 76th Street, near Mill Road. The incident took place on March 23, just before 8 p.m., and has led to criminal charges against both men.

Zyren Stewart, the younger brother, was working at the Walgreens and reported that an unknown man approached him with a gun, demanding access to the store’s safe. However, surveillance footage and further investigation revealed a different story. Zyren Stewart admitted that he had orchestrated the theft and involved his older brother, Xavier. Zyren confessed to giving his brother the code to hide in the bathroom during the staged robbery.

Surveillance footage also linked a vehicle to Xavier Stewart, who was already out on extended supervision. Walgreens management reported that Zyren Stewart’s behavior at the store had been suspicious, as he kept large sums of money in violation of store policy.

The total amount stolen was $11,000, and both brothers have been arrested. Weapons connected to the suspects were also found during the investigation. Zyren Stewart’s bond has been set at $10,000, while Xavier Stewart is currently being held at the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility, awaiting transfer to the county jail.

Zyren Stewart is scheduled to appear in court next week to face the charges.
