In a shocking case from Meerut’s Jani Khurd, police have arrested five individuals involved in the murder of farmer Subhash Upadhyay. The crime unfolded on June 23 and involved a conspiracy led by Subhash’s wife Kavita, their daughter Sonam, and their respective lovers.
Subhash had been openly opposing the extramarital relationships of his wife and daughter. His daughter’s lover, Vipin, assisted by his friend Ajgar alias Shivam, executed the murder, shooting Subhash as he returned from his fields. Police recovered the pistol and the motorcycle used in the crime.
Kavita was involved with Gulzar from Sisaula, while Sonam wished to marry Vipin from Jawaharnagar, relationships fiercely resisted by Subhash. After the murder, Vipin contacted Kavita and Sonam to confirm the killing, and the group acted as if nothing had happened.
Surveillance footage, phone call records, and WhatsApp chats confirmed their involvement, leading to the arrest of all five accused. SP Rakesh Kumar Mishra stated that the accused will be produced in court shortly.
