The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Squad of Manipur Police successfully arrested two men in connection with multiple vehicle thefts during an operation on Monday, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

Acting on intelligence about a newly formed vehicle theft gang, a team from Lilong Police Station set up a trap near Anjuman Office at Lilong Dam in Thoubal district. The operation led to the arrest of Md. Mufasin (20), a resident of Lilong Makha Leikai, and Md. Aman (20), from Lilong Lou Tara, both in Thoubal district.

The arrests are linked to an FIR filed earlier regarding the theft of a Royal Enfield Interceptor motorcycle from the Lilong Kaleikhong area. Police successfully recovered the stolen black motorcycle from the suspects. Additionally, another stolen vehicle was seized during the operation.

A case has been registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, as the police continue their investigation to trace further activities of the gang.
