In a targeted raid, the Commissioner’s Task Force South Zone Team, in coordination with Moghalpura and Chandrayangutta police, arrested two individuals for illegally procuring and selling Mephentermine Sulphate injections, a drug often misused for bodybuilding.
The accused have been identified as:
Md. Jibran Ahmed alias Sameer Goli
Ahmed Qureshi
Police seized 110 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate injections, valued at Rs1,32,000, from their possession. The arrests were made near Gowlipura Market, Moghalpura, Hyderabad.
Md. Jibran Ahmed, a native of Hyderabad, developed a keen interest in bodybuilding and began using Mephentermine Sulphate, a stimulant that boosts muscle mass. Initially sourcing the injections for personal use through IndiaMart in New Delhi, he soon realized the high demand and profitability in selling them.
Without holding any valid medical license or prescription authority, Jibran began selling the injections to gym-goers and “needy” customers at inflated prices, making easy money illegally. The injections were sold near local markets and gyms, bypassing all legal medical protocols.
Mephentermine, a Schedule H drug, is restricted under Indian law and its sale without a prescription is a punishable offense. Its misuse can lead to severe health complications, especially when used without medical supervision.
Police have launched a deeper investigation to uncover the full extent of the network and any possible links to larger distribution chains.
