DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Mary Jackson, a woman charged with the murder of 30-year-old Terrance Lewis Jr. in 2024, was arrested again after a grand jury indictment. The indictment, handed down by a Dale County Grand Jury, added charges of murder and shooting into an occupied building to the case.

Jackson was initially arrested late in 2024 after she allegedly shot Lewis Jr. seven times in the parking lot of the Midtown Apartments following an argument. Jackson claims she acted in self-defense, fearing for her life.

Initially released on a $100,000 bond after her first arrest, Jackson’s bond was increased to $175,000 by the grand jury. As a result, she was arrested again on April 21 and later released for the second time on April 22.
