ABERDEEN, NC — A 28-year-old man from West End, Marcus Bowser, was arrested after allegedly trying to use a fake $100 bill at a McDonald’s in Aberdeen.

The bill was clearly marked “For Motion Picture Use Only”, meaning it was not legal currency.

Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis said officers found Bowser in his vehicle nearby after being called to the restaurant on April 21.

Officers interviewed the McDonald’s manager, reviewed video footage, and confirmed the bill was counterfeit. It was then seized as evidence.

Bowser is facing a felony charge of uttering a forged instrument and was released with a written promise to appear in court.
