Mangaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested two men involved in selling narcotic substances in the city and seized drugs worth Rs8 lakh. The accused, identified as Thaizeer Ismail Hussain (23) of Pandeshwar and Royston Xavier Lobo (23) of Shivabagh, were reportedly supplying hydroweed cannabis, regular cannabis, and charas to students and other buyers.
According to police, the accused procured the narcotic substances from Bengaluru and conducted sales locally. Acting on a tip-off, the CCB arrested the duo on Shivabagh 5th Cross Road during an alleged drug transaction. Along with the drugs, the police seized two mobile phones from the accused.
The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Manoj Kumar Naika, with a team including Police Inspector K.M. Rafeeq, Police Sub-Inspector Narendra, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors Ram Poojary, Seenappa, and Sujan Shetty.
The case is being investigated further, and authorities are working to trace other members of the drug distribution network in Mangaluru.
