A man was arrested for allegedly stealing 96 luxury watches, including brands like Rado and Tissot, worth Rs 40 lakh in southwest Delhi, an official reported on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as 46-year-old Pradeep from Muradnagar, Ghaziabad, was involved in the theft, which occurred on February 21. The complainant, Sudhanshu Kumar, reported that on February 20, around 11:00 pm, a shipment of expensive watches was being delivered from Faridabad to Rangpuri.
Sudhanshu claimed that the driver of the delivery van, along with Pradeep, stole 20 boxes of watches during the delivery. Police officials said that they gathered intelligence, analyzed CCTV footage, and examined the call detail records (CDR) of the suspects.
On February 24, a police team raided a showroom in Muradnagar and recovered the 96 stolen watches. The serial numbers of the recovered items matched those from the stolen inventory, and Pradeep was arrested at the scene.
