Man Arrested for Scamming Rs 47 Lakh in Online Job Fraud

Fraudster lured victim with promises of high earnings through online job scheme.

The Muvattupuzha police have successfully apprehended Mansoor Ali, a 35-year-old resident of Thirurangadi, Malappuram, for scamming a person out of Rs 47 lakh through a fraudulent online job scheme. The arrest was made on Thursday after the victim reported the crime.

According to the police, Mansoor Ali contacted the victim via Telegram and lured him with promises of massive earnings through an online job opportunity. Trusting the offer, the victim transferred Rs 47 lakh to the scammer’s mule accounts over several transactions.

However, when the victim sought his promised commission, the fraudsters demanded additional payments, raising his suspicions. Concerned about the ongoing scam, the victim approached the police, prompting an investigation.

The police have successfully arrested Mansoor Ali, who was using rented accounts to carry out the fraudulent transactions. Investigations are ongoing to uncover more details of the scam.
