Man Arrested After Double Burglary and False Imprisonment in Charlotte

Jackson caught after fleeing and reattempting break-in near North Trade St.

Authorities arrested a man identified as Jackson following two burglary attempts at a Charlotte residence. Officials reported that during the first incident, Jackson prevented the homeowner from leaving or calling for help for nearly an hour before fleeing the scene prior to police arrival.

At approximately 7:15 a.m., Jackson returned to the home and attempted to break in again. Officers quickly responded and located him near North Trade Street. After a brief foot chase, he was apprehended near Cherry Street. Officials confirmed Jackson did not know the homeowner.

Jackson faces several charges, including felony first-degree burglary, felony second-degree burglary, felony larceny after break and enter, felony breaking and/or entering, misdemeanor false imprisonment, misdemeanor interfering with emergency communication, misdemeanor assault on a female, and misdemeanor resisting, delaying, and obstructing a public officer.

Jackson was denied bond, and the investigation remains ongoing.
