Madurai Police Arrest Two in Peraiyur Armed Robbery Case

Two youths assaulted, mobiles stolen; prime suspect still absconding

Madurai district police have apprehended two individuals in connection with a midnight armed robbery that occurred on Monday in Peraiyur. The accused, K. Mariappan (19) from Chinna Reddipatti and K. Vairamuthu (20) from Parapathi, allegedly assaulted two youths with lethal weapons and stole their mobile phones.

Both have been sent to judicial custody. However, the prime suspect, Mani, remains absconding. The gang, estimated to be about eight members strong, inflicted serious head injuries on the victims during the attack. Police continue their efforts to arrest the remaining accused involved in this violent crime.
