DOUGLAS COUNTY, Mo. — Two Ava residents, Mackathion Collins, 32, and Heather Flores, 44, were arrested on multiple charges including drug trafficking after deputies discovered drugs in an abandoned vehicle.

Deputies responded on Sept. 14, 2025, to a report of a black SUV blocking County Road P321. While waiting for the vehicle to be towed, Deputy Evans searched it and found methamphetamine, LSD, two bongs, and multiple small baggies labeled “The Plug.”

Identification inside the vehicle linked the SUV to Collins and Flores. A search warrant was obtained for their residence on Private Drive 3275, where deputies found methamphetamine in an aerosol can, digital scales, additional meth, and a long rifle—illegal for Collins, a convicted felon on probation.

Both Collins and Flores appeared at the sheriff’s office on Sept. 15, claiming the vehicle was stolen. They were arrested and held for 24 hours.

Collins has a lengthy criminal history, including multiple drug-related charges since 2015. Flores has a prior drug offense from 2017.
