Evansville Police arrested three people from Louisville after discovering 2 pounds of methamphetamine and cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 69.

The suspects—60-year-old Tanya Swearingen, 67-year-old Alphonso Kelly, and 67-year-old Laurene Winrow—were pulled over around 8:15 p.m. Friday near Highway 57 for driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone.

According to police, as officers asked the three to exit the vehicle, a glass pipe fell from the car. A subsequent search uncovered a purse containing two baggies of meth, along with a small bag of cocaine. Police also found a bag of cocaine hidden in Kelly’s sock.

Investigators believe the trio is part of a larger drug trafficking operation moving narcotics from Louisville to Evansville. Surveillance data on the vehicle showed it had made approximately 21 round trips between the two cities over the last 30 days.

All three suspects were arrested and face charges of Dealing Methamphetamine and Dealing Cocaine, according to the Evansville Police Department.
