MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two people were arrested over the weekend after allegedly conspiring to steal from a Walmart store in Mobile, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Around 6:24 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the Walmart at 101 East I-65 Service Road following reports of a theft in progress.

Investigators said a man and woman were seen switching barcodes on clothing items so that the register would scan them at a lower price.

The suspects, identified as Lisa Nelson, 47, and George Nash Jr., 36, both of Lucedale, Mississippi, were arrested and charged with organized retail theft.

Police said both were taken to Mobile Metro Jail. No injuries were reported, and the case remains under investigation.
