The Lasudia police have busted a gang of robbers and arrested four individuals who allegedly assaulted and looted Bhaskar Raghuvanshi of Rs6,000 in cash and a mobile phone near Dewas Naka on Saturday.
The incident occurred in February around 11:30 pm when Bhaskar was attacked by three unknown men near the Ilva Toll Gate on Dewas Naka. After the assault, the robbers took Rs6,000 and a mobile phone from him.
Upon receiving the complaint, a case was filed at Lasudia Police Station under Section 309(4) of the BNS. A special team, led by Taresh Kumar Soni, the in-charge of Lasudia police station, reviewed CCTV footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas to identify the suspects.
On March 7, police received a tip-off about the suspects planning another robbery near Niranjanpur Sabzi Mandi. The team quickly acted, and when they pursued the suspects, the robbers attempted to flee on a motorcycle. However, they crashed the motorcycle and sustained injuries.
The arrested individuals were identified as Deepak Ahirwar (Pipliyana Square), Karan Thakur (Azad Nagar), and Nitesh alias Lala (Mayur Nagar). During questioning, the robbers confessed to the crime, and the motorcycle used in the robbery was recovered. They also revealed that they had sold the stolen mobile phone to Kartik Sharma from Durga Nagar, who was subsequently arrested, and the stolen phone was recovered.
The arrested individuals, who have prior criminal records, are now being interrogated regarding their involvement in other thefts or robberies.
