ELK GROVE, Calif. (FOX40.COM) — Three individuals were arrested in connection with a distraction robbery after allegedly stealing a woman’s necklace in Elk Grove on August 5.
The Elk Grove Police Department reported that at approximately 9:30 a.m., a black Dodge Durango pulled up near a woman in a shopping center parking lot on the 7400 block of Elk Grove Boulevard. The suspects engaged her in conversation, and when she tried to ignore them, they forcibly took the necklace she was wearing.
Following the incident, Elk Grove police and detectives launched an investigation, identifying a residence in southeast Elk Grove linked to the suspects. After obtaining a search warrant, officers recovered the stolen jewelry, the suspects, and their vehicle.
Charged with robbery under Penal Code 211 are 25-year-old Larisa Stoian, 26-year-old Ion Stoian, and a 17-year-old female. Two other individuals at the residence were arrested on outstanding warrants.
