LEEDS, Ala. (WBRC) – Two Birmingham residents have been arrested and charged with organized retail theft following a major investigation into a statewide fencing operation.
Authorities say 65-year-old Landrus Lane Woods and 33-year-old Robin Danika Green were identified as key players in the scheme, which spanned multiple Alabama cities and involved stolen goods from Walmart and Target.
The investigation began in April 2025 as a joint effort between the Leeds Police Department, Walmart Global Investigations and Security, and Target Investigations. According to investigators, Woods and Green were running a “fencing” operation—where individuals knowingly purchase and resell stolen items, often directing others to steal specific products for a fraction of their value.
In May 2025, detectives executed a search warrant at Woods’ home on the 100 block of West 14th Court in Birmingham. There, they recovered thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen merchandise linked to both retail giants.
Woods and Green were taken into custody without incident and have been formally charged with organized retail theft.
Leeds Police Chief Paul Irwin praised the collaboration between law enforcement and corporate investigators: “We are proud to continue our relationship with our business partners and other law enforcement agencies to allow businesses to come into our area knowing that we will do everything we can to remove criminals from our city. I am very proud of the hard work and dedication of our department.”
