LaGrange, Ga. — Two people are behind bars after a coordinated shoplifting sting by the LaGrange Police Department (LPD) and Home Depot uncovered a months-long scheme that resulted in more than $11,000 in stolen merchandise.
According to authorities, the store’s Loss Prevention team alerted police on April 30 to a pattern of thefts involving an employee and a frequent customer. Between October 2024 and April 2025, Rodregues Huguley allegedly brought carts loaded with items to the register operated by cashier Lula Harris at the Home Depot located at 1500 Lafayette Parkway. Investigators say Harris would scan only one or two items, allowing Huguley to walk out with the rest unpaid.
The duo was caught on their 13th attempt during a sting operation on May 1, when officers and store security detained them after another theft valued at $1,214.95. This incident brought the total estimated loss to $11,491.17, police confirmed.
Both Huguley and Harris were arrested and charged with multiple counts of shoplifting. Police are urging anyone with additional information to contact Master Detective A. Blane at 706-883-2623.
