The Huliyar police in Tumakuru district arrested a 25-year-old labourer from Koratagere on Sunday and recovered stolen valuables worth Rs10.05 lakh from her.
The suspect, Alamelamma, had a habit of stealing valuables from passengers while traveling on crowded buses. On January 9, she stole gold items from a passenger named Rajeshwari during a bus journey. Following the complaint, the police launched an investigation, keeping a close watch on her activities. They were able to trace her through a diligent local intelligence network.
