In a rapid police response to a violent murder near Kalamna Market, authorities have arrested 38-year-old Kishore Thackeray for fatally stabbing 31-year-old Ravi Waghmare on Saturday night. The incident, which took place around 9:50 pm close to the Grain Market, shocked the local community.
Devrao Waghmare, the victim’s elder brother, recounted receiving a desperate call from Ravi, who cried out for help saying, “Dada, save me, Kishore Thackeray is stabbing me.” However, by the time Devrao arrived, Ravi was found critically injured, lying in a pool of blood on the cement road.
Witness Nashir Sheikh, a friend of the victim, stated that the two men had an argument, during which Kishore questioned Ravi’s presence in the area before attacking him with a knife, striking his stomach and back. Ravi was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Following Devrao’s complaint, Kalamna police promptly filed a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an immediate manhunt. Kishore Thackeray, a resident of Vakil Peth, Imamwada, was quickly traced and taken into custody within hours.
