The CIA team in Tauru has successfully arrested Sameem, the kingpin of a major drug smuggling network, who was involved in procuring drugs from foreign smugglers and supplying them to local traffickers. Sameem, a resident of Bawla village in the Tauru Sadar area, had been actively involved in drug trafficking and was wanted in several major drug-related cases. During his arrest, the police recovered a mobile phone and Rs95,000 in cash from his possession.
Sameem had been evading arrest for months, despite being named in seven NDPS cases filed in 2023 and 2024. The arrest was made on Thursday after a special operation by the CIA team led by Inspector Mahender Singh. According to Singh, Sameem was known to procure drugs from foreign smugglers and distribute them to local traffickers in surrounding areas, including Mewat. This was corroborated by the testimony of foreign nationals arrested in other drug-related cases.
The Nuh SP, Vijay Pratap Singh, highlighted the ongoing special campaign in the district aimed at cracking down on drug smugglers. “The arrest of Sameem has significantly disrupted the local drug smuggling network. We are determined to continue taking strong action to combat drug addiction in the region,” said Singh.
The investigation is ongoing, and Sameem is currently being questioned by the police.
