A swift investigation by Khetri Police Station led to the arrest of Manoranjan Barman (35), a resident of Ghunusha village in Jagiroad, in connection with a reported scooty theft.
During questioning, Barman admitted to stealing a scooty with registration number AS21 L 2771 from the Durung area and confessed to tampering with its number plate to evade identification.
Acting on his disclosure, police recovered the stolen vehicle from Jagirod Railway Station, along with the altered number plate. Authorities said further investigation is underway to ensure any additional links are traced.
