ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (BTW21) — A Reidsville man who worked as a track coach and substitute teacher at Reidsville Middle School has been arrested on multiple felony charges involving a female juvenile student, authorities announced.
34-year-old Kenneth Jaray Butchee was taken into custody on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, after an investigation revealed alleged misconduct involving a student between May and June 2025.

July 1, 2025: Rockingham County School officials alerted the Sheriff’s Office after receiving reports of inappropriate behavior.
July 9, 2025: Butchee turned himself in and was brought before a magistrate.
He is currently being held on a $100,000 secured bond at the Rockingham County Detention Facility and is scheduled to appear in district court on August 5, 2025.
