LA PLATA, Md. — Two Temple Hills women have been charged with felony theft after allegedly stealing more than $1,500 in merchandise from Macy’s at St. Charles Towne Center in Waldorf.

Kayleen Lisette Lazo, 18, and Marcelina Lazo Rosales, 36, face charges for theft of property valued between $1,500 and $25,000 following the Dec. 12, 2025 incident.

Authorities said loss prevention officers reported that the women concealed clothing and perfume in a black baby stroller while moving through the store. They were stopped near an elevator as they attempted to leave without paying. The stolen items, valued at approximately $1,548, were recovered.

Police confirmed the theft was witnessed by store staff and captured on surveillance cameras. Records indicate the suspects were accompanied by family members at the time.

Both Lazo and Rosales were released on their own recognizance following arrest. Their cases are scheduled for trial on Jan. 28, 2026, in Charles County District Court.
