TAYLORVILLE, Ill. — A volunteer assistant girls’ soccer coach for Taylorville High School has been arrested following allegations of misconduct involving a minor.
According to Taylorville School District Superintendent Brandi Bruley, 22-year-old Karla Collado, a former student at the high school, was arrested after an investigation into a complaint filed by a student. The charges include luring a child or guardian to commit a sex offense and engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with a child.
The investigation, which lasted several months, revealed that the alleged misconduct did not take place on school grounds. Superintendent Bruley confirmed that Collado began volunteering with the soccer team in the spring of 2024.
Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Bruley reassured the public that the girls’ soccer team remains unaffected for the current season.
This is a developing story, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
