Kalwa Police have arrested two habitual offenders, Shekhar Das (18) of Bhaskar Nagar and Randeep Arote (19) of Laxmi Nagar, for stealing motorcycles in the locality. A total of four stolen motorcycles worth Rs2,65,000 were recovered from their possession.

The case came to light when Nitin Vishwakarma filed a complaint on January 1 at the Kalwa Police Station, reporting the theft of his motorcycle by unknown individuals. In response, the Thane police launched a special operation to tackle thefts in the area.

Using information from informants, CCTV footage, and technical intelligence, the police set up a trap and successfully apprehended Das and Arote on Sunday.

During interrogation, both accused admitted to previous offenses. It was found that they had four registered cases of motorcycle theft under Kalwa and Rabodi police jurisdictions. The recovered motorcycles have been seized, and the accused have been remanded to police custody for further investigation.
