Two men from Trumann, Arkansas have been charged with felony theft after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in tools from a local Home Depot.

According to Jonesboro Police Department and court records, Joseph Wayne Nix, 31, and Daniel Oliver Irwin, 45, were found to have probable cause for theft of more than $1,000 but less than $5,000 and organized retail theft in the same amount, both Class D felonies.

The incident occurred on March 3, when a Home Depot loss prevention officer reported the theft after reviewing surveillance footage. The video showed Nix and Irwin pushing shopping carts full of merchandise out of the store without paying, totaling $2,788.94 in stolen tools.

The loss prevention officer provided investigators with photos of the suspects and their vehicle. A neighboring law enforcement agency helped identify the men using the surveillance images and their driver’s licenses.

Both Nix and Irwin are being held on $15,000 cash-only bonds and are scheduled to be arraigned on April 23.
