CARLISLE COUNTY, Ky. — Authorities in western Kentucky arrested Joseph Cook on Wednesday after he allegedly posted multiple threatening messages on social media targeting residents in Carlisle County.
The River Counties 911 Dispatch received several calls on June 11 reporting the threatening posts on Facebook. The River Counties Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force launched an investigation, which revealed that Cook, from Cunningham, Kentucky, was responsible for the posts.
Investigators also discovered that Cook had an active felony arrest warrant. They located him inside the sleeper cab of a semi-truck at a business along KY 121 in Carlisle County. Cook was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ballard County Detention Center.
Cook faces six counts of third-degree terroristic threatening in connection with the social media posts, and he remains in custody as authorities continue their investigation.
