BRISTOL, Conn. — A Bristol man was arrested twice within four days after authorities say he was found with large quantities of crack cocaine in separate incidents tied to suspected drug trafficking.

According to Lt. Eric Hanson, the first arrest occurred on June 2 during a surveillance operation by the Bristol Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement and Crime Suppression Units. Officers reportedly observed 40-year-old Jorge Freytas engaging in suspected drug transactions and stopped his vehicle. They allegedly recovered a significant amount of crack cocaine and cash. Freytas was arrested and later released on a $10,000 non-surety bond.

Just four days later, on June 6, police conducting surveillance again observed a man on a moped, allegedly involved in drug activity. After detaining him, police identified the suspect as Freytas. While in the back of a police cruiser, Freytas allegedly attempted to hide a large quantity of crack cocaine.

Freytas now faces two charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell. Authorities report a total seizure of approximately 30 grams of crack cocaine and nearly $6,300 in suspected drug proceeds.

Freytas is scheduled to be arraigned in New Britain Court on Monday and remains free pending trial, according to court records.
