MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been arrested in connection with three robberies after a tip helped police identify the suspect.
The first incident occurred on January 22 at a Family Dollar on Getwell Road, where the suspect allegedly took money from a register and threatened to shoot a clerk if she moved. The robbery was captured on surveillance video, and images of the suspect were shared on social media.
More than a week later, CrimeStoppers received a tip identifying the suspect as Jonathan Boyce. Investigators say a man matching Boyce’s appearance and clothing was also seen in two additional robberies within days of the first incident.
Police issued warrants and later located and arrested Boyce. He is now charged with robbery and aggravated robbery, and his bond has been set at $200,000.
Authorities noted that Boyce has a lengthy criminal history, including prior charges such as arson, aggravated burglary, theft, aggravated assault, and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
