CLINTON, N.Y. — A Town of Westmoreland man has been arrested and charged with grand larceny after allegedly failing to fulfill a paid demolition contract in Kirkland, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect, John Feketa, 58, was hired on June 13 by a local resident to demolish a building. The victim paid $4,000 upfront, but the job was never completed, prompting a formal complaint filed on July 9.

After weeks of investigation, deputies located and arrested Feketa on September 3, charging him with grand larceny, a felony offense.

Following his arraignment, Feketa was remanded without bail to the Oneida County Correctional Facility, where he awaits further legal proceedings.

Authorities continue to urge homeowners and businesses to thoroughly vet contractors before entering into agreements, especially for large-scale or prepaid projects.
