The Special Enquiry Squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested Pathnul Khalandar Khan (43), a resident of 5th Phase, JP Nagar, for allegedly defrauding eight job seekers of Rs 14.23 lakhs by promising employment in reputed multinational companies (MNCs).

The accused, along with two others who are currently absconding — Veeresh and Inayath — had posted fake job opportunities on social media, conducted fraudulent interviews, and demanded fees from hopeful candidates.

One of the victims, Geetha, paid Rs 2.7 lakh via UPI after being promised a job, but never received an offer letter. When she followed up, the accused started ignoring her calls. Police investigations revealed that seven other candidates were similarly deceived.

The CCB has launched a manhunt for the absconding accused as the investigation continues.
