A Memphis man has been arrested after threatening several people with a gun at a restaurant on Mother’s Day. Jamaine Ivy, 30, was taken into custody after police responded to an armed party call at J. Alexander’s restaurant, located on Germantown Parkway near the Wolfchase Galleria.
According to the Memphis Police Department, officers arrived just after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, where they learned that Ivy had assaulted his girlfriend at the restaurant. Surveillance footage from the incident shows Ivy and another woman approaching the victim, who was seated with her family. They began to attack her, and when others attempted to intervene, Ivy pulled out a black handgun, aimed it at the crowd, and ordered everyone to step back. Ivy and the woman fled the scene shortly after the threat.
Ivy has been charged with several offenses, including domestic assault, child abuse, child neglect, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and five counts of aggravated assault, according to the Memphis Police Department.
This frightening encounter has left the restaurant’s patrons shaken, and authorities are continuing to investigate the details of the incident.
