The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Jahirul Islam Bipul, the prime accused in the murder of Md Shahadat, a factory employee, in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area. Bipul was apprehended during a raid in Arshinagar, Keraniganj, last night, confirmed Assistant Police Super (ASP) and Assistant Director of Media, RAB, Khan Asif Tapu.
Md Shahadat was attacked on the evening of September 18, 2024, while returning home from work in the Katashur Giringi Housing area. Bipul, along with his cohorts, allegedly stabbed Shahadat multiple times with sharp weapons, leaving him severely injured. Locals rushed the victim to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, where he was later declared dead.
Following the incident, Shahadat’s father filed a case with Mohammadpur police station, and the authorities began their investigation into the fatal attack.
The arrest of Bipul marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation, and further legal action will be taken in connection with the murder.
