Jacob Houston Charged in Cape Girardeau Burglary Case

Suspect found with burglary tools and stolen items

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — A 31-year-old man was arrested in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 12, following a reported burglary on North Broadview Street.

Jacob Houston has been charged with felony second-degree burglary, felony possession of burglar’s tools, misdemeanor second-degree property damage, and misdemeanor stealing, according to Cape Girardeau police.

Officers responded to the 100 block of North Broadview around 2:30 a.m. and located Houston at the scene. Authorities say he was found in possession of burglary-related tools and a piece of a cut padlock, linking him to the break-in.

Houston was taken into custody and is currently being held on a $7,500 bond.
