JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KATV) – A Jacksonville man was arrested after being linked to a decade-long series of multi-state commercial burglaries that spanned three states.
Curtis Lee Barton, 40, of Jacksonville, is accused of committing over 30 commercial burglaries across northern Missouri and southern Iowa. Law enforcement from Arkansas, Missouri, and Iowa worked together in the investigation, which culminated in his arrest.
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID), in partnership with the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office (Iowa) and Lewis County Sheriff’s Office (Missouri), executed search warrants at two properties in Jacksonville and Sherwood, Arkansas. During the investigation, agents found evidence linking Barton to the burglaries.
Barton was served an arrest warrant from Lewis County, Missouri, where he faces five charges, including burglary, theft, and property damage. ASP transported Barton to the Pulaski County Detention Center, where he was booked and held.
Notably, Barton is a parolee from Missouri for a prior commercial burglary conviction.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
