Jack Holland-Batt Charged in Connection with Gillingham Knifepoint Robberies

Suspect Faces Court After Robberies in Gillingham on 25 November 2024

A 30-year-old man, Jack Holland-Batt, has been charged in connection with a series of knifepoint robberies that took place in Gillingham town centre on Monday, 25 November 2024. The suspect is set to appear in court following his arrest.

The robberies occurred around midday at three businesses on Canterbury Street, Green Street, and High Street. Employees at the locations were threatened by a man wielding a knife. Police report that cash was stolen from two of the businesses before the suspect fled.

Police quickly located and arrested Holland-Batt at a nearby address shortly after the incidents. A knife was recovered during the arrest. He has been charged with two counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery, and two counts of possessing a bladed article in a public place.

Holland-Batt has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 26 November.

Local authorities praised the swift response of officers in locating and arresting the suspect, emphasizing the importance of proactive policing to ensure public safety. Further updates on the case are expected as it progresses through the courts.
