A significant drug racket has been uncovered in Hyderabad, with authorities seizing 106 kg of ganja worth approximately Rs53 lakhs. The drugs were discovered in a godown located in the HCL area of Uppal. Excise Joint Commissioner Qureshi briefed the media on the operation, stating that the ganja was packed into 56 packets, each containing 2 kg of the contraband.

The arrested individuals, Katla Vivek Reddy and Madhu Kiran, are reportedly involved in smuggling operations. Notably, Vivek Reddy, an assistant professor at a private engineering college, was implicated in the operation. Based on their interrogation, the police identified a man named Rambabu, from the Malkangiri area, as the primary person behind this large-scale drug racket. However, Rambabu remains at large, and the police are actively searching for him.

Qureshi revealed that if Rambabu is caught, it could lead to the revelation of further crucial details about the drug trade network. Vivek Reddy has two prior cases against him, and Rambabu has two pending cases in Bhadrachalam. The ganja is reportedly packed in the Malkangiri forest area and transported through various routes to be sold in Hyderabad. The police continue to investigate this major drug operation.
