In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (HNEW), in coordination with Chikkadpally Police, apprehended four individuals involved in an organised drug trafficking network. The syndicate allegedly used courier services and local sub-peddlers to distribute contraband across the city.
During the raid, police seized 22 grams of OG (hydroponic ganja), 5 grams of MDMA, 5.57 grams of ecstasy pills, and six LSD blots, with a total estimated market value of Rs 3.12 lakh.
The arrested include:
Ummidi Immanuel (25) – local drug peddler
Chodavarapu Susmitha Devi alias Lilly (21) – software employee and sub-peddler from Kakinada
Gorla Sai Kumar (28) – sub-peddler from Kakinada
Talabattula Taraka Laxmikanth Ayyappa (24) – private employee and consumer in Chikkadpally
HNEW DCP Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath stated that the syndicate sourced drugs via Dark Web platforms using the Tor browser, while payments were routed through cryptocurrency wallets to convert Indian Rupees into USDT, hiding the financial trail.
“Drugs were delivered via courier services, and local sales were managed by trusted sub-peddlers. In the absence of the main accused, his live-in partner handled sales and accounts, with a delivery agent acting as transporter,” the DCP explained. Proceeds from these illicit sales were laundered through bank accounts to fund a lavish lifestyle.
The case remains under investigation as authorities work to dismantle the wider network.
