Jammu Police arrested a drug peddler, Haseen, on Wednesday after seizing 40 kg of poppy from his possession in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. The arrest occurred during a routine vehicle check at Jakhani Naka, located along the highway.
According to officials, a police team intercepted a vehicle for a routine inspection. During the search, two plastic gunny bags were discovered hidden inside empty vegetable crates in the back of the vehicle. Upon inspection, the bags were found to contain a total of 40 kg of poppy.
The driver, identified as Haseen, was arrested at the scene. A case has been registered at the Udhampur police station, and further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the drug trafficking operation.
