Following a complaint filed on July 10 by Zirakpur resident Anil, the district crime branch arrested Harsh Singh, a resident of Baltana originally from Amritsar, for breaking into a car and stealing valuables.
Anil reported that on July 9, he and his friend Radheshyam parked their car near a liquor store on Dhakoli Road, Sector 20, and when they returned, they found the car window shattered and a bag containing two laptops and important documents missing.
DCP (Crime) Amit Dahiya stated that the accused was caught after attempting to use a stolen ATM card at a petrol pump. The police quickly reviewed CCTV footage and, through technical analysis and intelligence inputs, arrested Singh near Ashiana in Sector 20. He has been charged under relevant sections of the law.
