Harinath and Seshatri Arrested for Anna Nagar Land Fraud

Two men caught selling property with forged documents

The land fraud investigation unit of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested two men on Thursday for attempting to sell a property worth Rs2.5 crore in Anna Nagar using forged documents.

The accused were identified as Harinath (36), who planned the operation, and Seshatri (37), who assisted in preparing fake ownership papers. The men tried to sell a 2,195 sqft plot belonging to 65-year-old retired doctor Beula Lilin Nallathambi by fabricating land records and mortgaging the property at a bank to gain illegal profit.

The arrests came after a complaint filed on November 25, 2024, prompted an investigation by the land fraud investigation unit-I, supervised by Assistant Commissioner of Police Varadharajan. Both suspects were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
