In a shocking case from Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh, police have arrested Gomti Saini and her nephew Sujit for the murder of Gomti’s husband, Shyam Sundar Saini. The case was solved nearly 20 days after the killing, exposing a long-running illicit relationship that turned deadly.
Investigations revealed that Gomti and Sujit had been involved in an affair for around eight months, causing frequent domestic disputes. A breakthrough came when the victim’s son, Krishnakant, raised suspicions about his mother and cousin. Acting on his information, police interrogated Gomti and Sujit, leading to their confessions.
Police recovered the weapons used in the murder, including a sharp-edged object and a brick. The victim’s daughter, Pooja, said her father had been killed due to her mother’s illicit affair, while neighbors confirmed repeated domestic arguments fueled the conspiracy.
Additional Superintendent of Police Vandana Singh confirmed the arrests and stated that action has been taken under relevant sections of law, with further investigation underway. The gruesome crime has shocked the local community.
