PARMA, Ohio — A 50-year-old man was arrested Sunday morning for allegedly robbing a BP gas station located at 5206 State Road.
Police responded around 6:30 a.m. after receiving reports of an armed robbery. According to the store clerk, a male suspect wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans approached the counter to purchase a soft drink with cash. As the clerk opened the register, the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money.
The suspect then fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan. Authorities reviewed surveillance footage from the gas station, nearby businesses, and traffic cameras to gather details about the vehicle and the suspect.
Later that evening, Euclid Police located the vehicle parked in a driveway on Naumann Avenue. Although the driver was detained, he was not the suspect. Officers then found Frank A. Piasecki inside the residence and arrested him without incident.
Piasecki faces charges of aggravated robbery and is scheduled for arraignment in Parma Municipal Court. Detectives continue to investigate and collect further evidence related to the case.
