A 45-year-old man, Francisco Aragon, was arrested on Sunday in Colorado Springs after allegedly strangling a woman and kidnapping her. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 2500 block of Royalty Ct. at 10:06 a.m.

Police reports indicate that a man, later identified as Aragon, was seen strangling the woman before placing her in a vehicle and leaving the scene. When officers arrived, they saw Aragon enter a residence but he refused to come to the door. Authorities forcibly entered the home to ensure the victim was not in need of medical attention, but she was not present at the time.

Further investigation led officers to speak with the victim’s family, who confirmed that she had been taken to a local convenience store and was unharmed. Despite efforts, police were unable to directly contact the victim.

Aragon was arrested and charged with domestic violence-related second-degree assault and kidnapping.
