MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. – Authorities in Montgomery County have arrested four women believed to be involved in a retail theft ring that has been targeting businesses in the area for months.
The women, aged 17 to 26, were taken into custody at the Downtown Crown Shopping Center on Wednesday afternoon. Police identified the suspects as 26-year-old Mone Herndon, 26-year-old Shawn Stewart, 18-year-old Precious Spivey, and a 17-year-old juvenile whose name has not been released due to her minor status. All four face felony theft-related charges.
Investigators believe the women are responsible for more than a dozen thefts in the county over the past few weeks. The arrests were made after police collaborated with staff at the Lululemon store on Crown Park Avenue, keeping a close eye on the suspects.
On the day of the arrest, detectives observed the women entering the store, where they split up and attempted to steal multiple items. Police witnessed the suspects carrying the stolen goods out of the store without paying. The four women were arrested at the scene and are now facing serious charges for their alleged involvement in the theft ring.
Detectives continue to investigate and are working to determine if the group is connected to other retail theft incidents in the region.
