FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A 26-year-old man, Austin L. Freed, was arrested after a shooting victim walked into a local hospital early Friday morning. The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to the report around 12:15 a.m.
Detectives later determined that the shooting occurred in the 1400 block of Ashley Avenue. Freed was identified as the primary suspect and was taken into custody. He is currently being held at the Allen County Jail.
Freed faces several preliminary charges, including:
Attempted Murder
Battery with a Deadly Weapon
Armed Robbery with a Deadly Weapon
Intimidation
